Discover Your Learning Style
This is what you are expected to do by the end of this lesson:
· Complete the learning inventory and state orally how you learn
· Complete the Web Quest project that matches your learning style
· Give a brief, oral presentation of what the project was, learning style used, and what was learned
Activities:
1. You may start by going to the Learning Inventory found at http://www.accelerated-learning.net/learning_test.html. You are expected to print out the inventory and complete it. Once you have completed it ask yourself if you think it accurately reflects the way you learn. What ways did you think you learned best? When everyone has finished your teacher will lead the class in a discussion to learn everyone’s results. Turn your paper in to your teacher and make sure you have your name on it.
2. You have been instructed to go to the Die Like an Egyptian Web Quest found at http://www.d118.scook.k12.il.us/south/curriculum/team6c/Egypt/egypt2.htm.
3. At this site you will be asked to locate your learning style from the list presented. If you have the naturalist learning style, please go speak with your teacher. You will have to choose the second best way in which you learn. Once you have located your learning style click on it and then read the descriptions of the projects. You will only be responsible for completing ONE of them. Choose the one that looks the most fun and complete it.
4. You now need to think about how you are going to present a brief overview to the class about what your project was and what you learned by doing it. What you learned can include answers to questions like, “Did it match my style of learning?” and what you learned about
5. If you are finished with ALL your work and the teacher has approved it, you may go to Virtual Tours found at http://www.egyptvoyager.com/pyramids_giza_virtual.htm and explore Giza. You will click on the little red dots on the map to navigate around Giza.
Conclusion of the Lesson:
This is when you will give your oral presentation and share what you have learned. We are going to be doing many more activities and uncovering many more interesting information about Ancient Egypt when you return to the lab!
