This is what you are expected to do for of this lesson:
1. Read online source document
2. Write a newspaper article centered around one of the legal source documents you read
3. Know what a source document is and why it is important
Activities:
1. You will go to http://www.stoa.org/diotima/anthology/wardtexts.shtml. This site contains primary legal documents.
2. You must read all the documents on the site. Some of them will be confusing. It is alright to raise your hand and ask for help!
3. After you have read the documents, you must decide which one you are going to write a newspaper article about. Tell your teacher which one you are choosing.
4. When writing your article keep in mind that you are using the primary document as a basis for writing the article. That means that you are going to have to “make up” some information!
5. Check your writing and make sure you have used proper grammar, correct spelling, and kept the information appropriate for a newspaper article.

Why do you think primary source documents are important? Can you think of anything we have today that could be used as a primary source document in the future?
