Fruit
A fruit is the part of the plant where the seeds are. Most fruits are formed from flowers. The flower petals dry up and fall away, leaving the seeds. The fruit forms around the seed to protect them. Some of the seeds will eventually grow to make new plants.
| Here is a picture of an apple tree. In the spring, the tree produces flowers. Over the summer the fruit ripens. In the fall the apples are picked or fall to the ground. The seeds are then protected Until they are ready to germinate. |
