Stem
The stem of the plant has two main functions. First it’s the stem’s job to hold up the leaves, flower and fruit of the plant. Second, its job is to carry water, food and minerals through the plant. It brings water and minerals up from the roots. It brings sugar that the plants make to all parts of the plant. Think about the trunk of a tree. This is the stem of the tree. It is thick and goes straight up from the ground. Think of a vine growing on a house. It is thin and can grow in several directions.
