Kid's Site from NADDA This is a comprehensive website that was written for 7 to 12 year olds. It explains all about attention deficit disorder. It offers strategies that children can use to cope with homework, family members, and interacting with friends.

Medline Plus Health This is another comprehensive site. This site is written in both Spanish and English! It has information on diagnosis, treatments, school strategies, legal aspects, government resources, and organizations for ADHD.

Catholic Educators Site There is a variety of information here.

Catholic Online All lab machines default to this site. Information about saints, Popes, and more.

Character Education

100 Ideas for Character Education This site will give you some new ideas for teaching your character education lessons.

The Story of Fairness Grades 1—2 There is a story to read on line. Then a discussion follows. See this lesson plan

Respect Grades K-6 Worksheets and some activities. There are some lesson plans also.

Special Education Strategies A teacher authored site. She is sharing all her useful tips and strategies for dealing with special education and other students. She created this site to help other professionals.

Special Education Resources on the Internet This is an exhaustive listing of links to resources on the net.

Multiple Intelligences Lots of good articles for teaching to the multiple intelligences.

Technology

GetNetWise This site was created to help teachers, parents and kids get educated about safe internet usage. This site also offers internet filter suggestions. If a parent asks you about an at home filtering service, give them this URL.

Digital Cameras in the Classroom This site offers a variety of ideas and resources about how to use digital cameras in the classroom. It was written by a teacher who uses his digital camera to support the curriculum. Don't forget, we have a digital camera that can be checked out. The sign up sheet is kept on the server and the camera is in the office.

Internet 4 Classrooms This is by far one of the best sites on the net for teachers. There are tutorials for all sorts of software such as Windows, HyperStudio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. There is a listing of links for any subject you can think of, including lots to math sites, science fair projects, and ideas for the one computer classroom. There are grant opportunities listed and links to educational news. This is a must see site!

Violence Prevention 

The Bullying Project This site is for helping younger kids cope with being bullied. It does have suggestions for teachers and families. The site also provides a resource list of videos, books, websites, and media coverage.

School Violence Prevention an policy issues, intervention strategies and resources for parents, teachers, and students.

Virtual Field Trips

The Field Trip Site This is a neat site for taking virtual field trips. You can go to Antarctica, the desert, the salt marshes, or other neat places. You could even create your own field trip and submit it! How about making one about one of the famous Lenexa sites?

Virtual Field Trips This site has MANY different choices! There are virtual exhibits and tours.

Spartanburg District 3 has put together a site with links and descriptions of webquests made by their teachers. All grade levels and subjects are covered. If you are looking for a good technology project to do with your class you need look no farther!

Rubrics for Just about Anything This is not the name of the site. It is Discovery Channel's Kathy Schrock site. While you are here, look around this website. It is HUGE! You will find free clip art, free puzzles to make, many different ideas for instruction, and much more. This is one of my favorites sites.
